Arsenal’s move for Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang forward could be delayed after he was called to testify in court over the bus bombing which occurred last season.

The suspect, named only as Sergei W, has been in court over the attack which happened next to the Dortmund team bus prior to the Champions League game with Monaco last season and injured defender Marc Bartra.

The court case in ongoing in Germany and Bartra and Aubameyang have now been called to testify in the case, reports German daily .

The pair are set to give evidence in Dortmund on Monday, two days before the close of the transfer window, meaning Arsenal’s pursuit of the Gabon international could be delayed or disrupted as a result.

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis flew out to Dortmund over the weekend to try to force through a deal which would see Aubameyang follow his former teammate Henrikh Mkhitayran to the Emirates, following the latter’s arrival from Manchester United in a swap deal for Alexis Sanchez.

Dortmund are believed to be open to offers for their troubled striker who is currently serving his third disciplinary by the club in 12 months after failing to turn up to a team meeting last weekend.

They want £60m for him whereas Arsenal are offering just £45m at the moment, but are willing to allow Olivier Giroud to go in the opposite direction.
